[Devmon] "Copying" device templates

running
$ ./devmon -vv -f --readbbhosts

tells me "No matching templates" for my device

If I then run 
$ snmpstatus i-wexf-a01 xxxxxx

I find out it's a 2800 Cisco Router.

Now, how good/bad would it be to copy the "cisco-2801" template to 
"cisco-2800" and adjusting the "model" and "sysdesc" fields in the specs 
file?
Woluld this work? 
Is it advisable?
Alternatives?

Please let me know your thoughts.
