You don't say what Unix you're using (eg Solaris's su has= =20 no -s option), but under Linux you may want to do something like this as=20 root: root@host # su -s /bin/bash - devmon devmon@host $ cat /home/hobbit/server/etc/bb-hosts If you don't see the contents of the bb-hosts file, then your devmon user m= ay=20 not have rights to "enter" all the parent directories. chmod a+x all the=20 parent directories, or add devmon to the hobbit group or similar to fix thi= s. =46lavour to your local settings (username devmon runs as etc.).
