[Devmon] Spikes in graphs

Is there anyway to incorporate something into devmon that can eliminate
spikes in the graphs.  I mean if I have to restart my devmon process I get
spikes and not just small ones.  I mean my 10gig interfaces spike upto a
petabyte.  Which is not feasible on the interface and I have to wait one day
for the graph to show somewhat normal.  I've seen some scripts for mrtg and
will do this type of thing but since hobbit stores the rrd data in a per
host directory structure.  It makes it hard to run this script.  Didn't know
if it was feasible to include something like this in devmon.
