[Devmon] Monitoring vmware esx 3i from devmon

Is anyone monitoring vmware esx 3i from devmon or indeed hobbit in
general if not via snmp? Normal esx 3.5 is fine as a hobbit client can
just be installed on it but 3i needs monitoring remotely. I'd prefer to
use snmp over the perl interface if I can. Anyone done this before I
reinvent the wheel?
