[Devmon] Devmon if_* question

This may be related to hobbit also.  But is it feasible to be able to
disable one interface in the if_* columns instead of having to disable the
whole column?

I think this is probably a hobbit question too but figured I would ask.

You can do this in bb-hosts. 

 

I use

10.xxx.xx.xx    X5-7206-2       # conn COMMENT:"X5 7206-2 "
DEVMON:model(cisco;7206),tests(cpucisco,if_col,if_dsc,if_err,if_stat,ifl
oad,power) TRENDS:*,ifload:ifload|ifloaddet

 

Then run  devmon -readbbhosts 

 

To update the devmon hosts.db file.

 

This is all documented in the devmon help html.

But say I want to disable Gigabit Ethernet 0/2 on a 2970 24 port switch.
The only way to disable that port on that 2970 is to disable any if_* column
that it falls under.  I haven't found a way for hobbit to distinguish
between items within the column.

This is what I am using to ignore two blades of gigE on our 7613 (because we 
really do want to know if the ATM interfaces in it are down):

x.x.x.x router.domain.com # DEVMON:cid(xxx),except(if_stat;ifName;na:Gi11/.*|
Gi4/.*)

See the section on the except tag in docs/USING for more detail.
