Hi Jeff, Have you you tried the ipmonitor website? http://support.ipmonitor.com/mibs_byname_J.aspx that one (and a few other sites like it), break the MIB files up into a more palatable version, and are typically what I use when I'm creating a template (along with a few snmpgets/walks to make sure that the device I'll be polling actually responds to the OIDs I plan on using). I assume you tested the OID with a SNMPWALK and it works... I have devmon running and this occurs when the switch/router doesnt respond to the SNMP request from the devmon server in time, so the devmon server continues the process and correlation of the data. While its doing this, it fails because the data is missing... I tuned some of my config settings to up the timeout for devmon. thanks, michael Michael A. hi everyone . i have installed hobbit and devmon on a single node install and its working fine. trying to get devmon to work on a multinode is not working well. I have configured devmon.cfg for multinode correctly. the database seems to be working. but no outpout is being ouputed to display server (hobbit). if devmon is running the test on hobbits are green but when clicking on each test no data is available, but when killing devmon process the test truns to purple. so to some extent it reporting but no data is being displayed on hobbit. any help would be greatly apreciated. thank you |

Well - I don't quite remember RH 7.3, but I guess you can do somthing like this : # *perl -MCPAN -e shell <config stuff> *cpan> *install Math::BigInt::Calc *cpan> *reload cpan* Otherwise download the package manually from cpan.org and install by hand. This would be my best guess - I'm not a Perl guy myself :) BR /Torben On 1/23/07, Lor...@pf... <Lor...@pf...> wrote: > > > Thanks Torben, > > I'm not a perl guy, I'm afraid, so how do I go about getting this sorted? > > Loris > > |

Hi again .. I need to figure out one last thing to make my Hobbit/devmon setup perfect : Is it possible to grab the current threshold values ( red/yellow ) and display them in the status message ? I have a lot of nodes with specific threshold values in my bb-hosts, and it would be eally sweet if I could show these values in the web page - or even add it to my NCV graphs ! BR /Torben |

Check the docs/TEMPLATE file, below is a snippet: The 'sysdesc' variable is used by the type auto-detection that Devmon does when it initially reads the host from the bb-hosts file (when using the --readbbhosts command line argument). This value should be unique when compared to the value of the other templates. It's a regular expression, so you can match a fairly complicated pattern, if you so desire. You can also hardcode a device to use a specific template via the DEVMON tag used in the bb-hosts file, DEVMON:model(vendor;model). See docs/USING for more info on options that can be used with the DEVMON tag. > -----Original Message----- > From: dev...@li...=20 > [mailto:dev...@li...] On=20 > Behalf Of Jeff Horn > Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2007 10:03 AM > To: dev...@li... > Subject: [Devmon] Creating a template for Devmon >=20 >=20 > I have been trying to create a template to use with a=20 > Neoteris Secure Access Server, but I can't seem to get the=20 > specs file right to work with the device. I have been trying to create a template to use with a Neoteris Secure Access Server, but I can't seem to get the specs file right to work with the device. I run "devmon -vvvv --readbbhosts" and get the message "No matching templates for device: myserver". Here is the output from snmpwalk.
