I could be wrong to be using the images at ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/ devel/testing/ to fix the Illegal Instruction squid crashes I'm seeing but I thought I had read that they had been fixed there. Instead, are they fixed only in CVS? I had tried ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/ devel/testing/devil-linux-1.8.0-rc2-2016-08-13-x86_64.tar.xz after noticing the issue when upgrading to 1.8.0-rc1 but it still gives me the "Illegal Instruction" error. When 1.8.0-rc1 failed, I tried upgrading my system (from a PII) to a an Athlon 64 dual core, thinking that would work, but it didn't. When this is settled, I may want to go back to the PII, but for now I'm entertaining the idea of keeping the overkill athlon dual core. The only system I have been able to run it on is a second generation intel core i5 (I just tested it with my fastest gaming machine, but won't be using it). Anyway, are images available with the squid compilation working on lowest common denominator i686 or x86_64 yet? I'm excited that there's a new devil linux version out and wish I could use it. Thanks for updating everything, it must be a huge undertaking. |
