If you don't believe me, take a look at startup scripts from other working 
distributions like RHEL...

It is possible also to read the man page of NFSD :

"...
/The exportfs and //mountd programs (part of the nfs-utils package) expect to 
find this filesystem mounted at */proc/fs/nfsd* or */proc/fs/nfs*./
..."
