glennrp just announced version 1.5.2 of libpng on freshmeat.net.

The changes are as follows:

A major reorganization of the build system was undertaken. The png_ptr and
png_info structs are now opaque, i.e., their members are not accessible to
applications and have been moved into separate private header files. The
pngvalid.c testing program was added.

Project description:

libpng (PNG library) is a collection of routines used 
to create and manipulate PNG format graphics files. 
The PNG format was designed as a replacement for 
GIF and, to a lesser extent, TIFF, with many 
improvements and extensions.
