Dear freshmeat.net subscriber, barsnick just announced version 2.13 of GNU C library on freshmeat.net. The changes are as follows: New Linux interfaces prlimit, prlimit64, fanotify_init, and fanotify_mark were added. POWER7 optimizations were made for memset, memcmp, and strncmp. New optimized string functions were implemented for x86-64: strnlen (utilizing SSE2), strcasecmp (utilizing SSE2, SSSE3, SSE4.2), strncasecmp (utilizing SSE2, SSSE3, SSE4.2). Many minor bugs were fixed. Project description: GNU C library (glibc) is one of the most important components of GNU Hurd and most modern GNU/Linux distributions. It is used by almost all C programs and provides the most essential APIs, including the C standard library and other standard libraries.
