Dear freshmeat.net subscriber, kostecke just announced version 4.2.6p3-RC12 of NTP on freshmeat.net. The changes are as follows: This release candidate adds build support for Atari FreeMiNT OS and FreeBSD 4.7, improves --version output, enables control of interpolation for Microsoft Windows, includes code cleanups for the type 30 (oncore) and type 40 (JJY) drivers, adds support for 75 baud rawdcf clocks to the type 8 (parse) driver, improves IPv6 Multicast support on Linux and Microsoft Windows, adds the timezone offset to SNTP output, fixes a segfault condition in ntp-keygen, improves handling of Manycast server discovery message responses, and includes build infrastructure improvements. Project description: The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is used to synchronize the time of a computer client or server to another server or reference time source, such as a radio or satellite receiver or modem. It provides client accuracies typically within a millisecond on LANs and up to a few tens of milliseconds on WANs relative to a primary server synchronized to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) via a Global Positioning Service (GPS) receiver, for example.
