Dear freshmeat.net subscriber, hardaker just announced version 5.6 of Net-SNMP on freshmeat.net. The changes are as follows: This release provides many new features including SNMP over DTLS and TLS, TSM, host-based configuration files, include statements in config files, an agentxtrap CLI command, a modular transport subsystem, a stripped-down OpenSSL version for minimal binaries, and many other features and bugfixes. Project description: The NET-SNMP (formerly UCD-SNMP) package contains various tools relating to the Simple Network Management Protocol including an extensible agent, an SNMP library, tools to request or set information from SNMP agents, tools to generate and handle SNMP traps, a version of the unix 'netstat' command using SNMP and a Tk/perl mib browser. It was originally based on the Carnegie Mellon University SNMP implementation (version 2.1.2.1), but has been greatly enhanced, ported and fixed and barely resembles the original package anymore.
