glennrp just announced version 1.4.4 of libpng on freshmeat.net.

The changes are as follows:

This is a cleanup release with no significant changes to the source files. The
CMakeLists.txt script has been updated. Some unwanted files were deleted. The
prebuilt autoconf scripts were updated.

Project description:

libpng (PNG library) is a collection of routines used 
to create and manipulate PNG format graphics files. 
The PNG format was designed as a replacement for 
GIF and, to a lesser extent, TIFF, with many 
improvements and extensions.
