First, save a copy of your current config file -- just in case.

Then boot with the 1.4 CD.  Pay attention to your console.
It will detect the version change and walk you through the upgrade.

There are a lot of changes between 1.2 and 1.4, so the upgrade may not
work perfect.  Check out everything after you get booted up.  You may
have to tweak some config files for some services.

And if it all goes to hell, you saved a copy of your 1.2 config before
you started, right???  :-)
