Dear freshmeat.net subscriber, scoop just announced version 5.5.1-m2 of MySQL on freshmeat.net. The changes are as follows: This release adds support for an interface for semisynchronous replication. Also, support for the SQL standard SIGNAL and RESIGNAL statements, enhancements to XML functionality, and two new types of user-defined partitioning have all been added. It is now possible to delete all rows from one or more partitions of a partitioned table. Key caches are now supported for indexes on partitioned MyISAM tables, using the CACHE INDEX and LOAD INDEX INTO CACHE statements. The TO_SECONDS() function is added, which converts a date or datetime expression to a number of seconds since the year 0. Project description: MySQL is a widely used and fast SQL database server. It is a client/server implementation that consists of a server daemon (mysqld) and many different client programs/libraries.
