Thanks for the input Frank & I'm sorry my thanks is so belated.
(I've neglected much in the past 2 months.)  My other problem with
Virtual Box was that the utility of snapshots was so limited,
the feature was useless.  Has this been addressed?

In VM Workstation, one is free to take as many snapshots
as there is disk space & restart from any of them without
affecting other snapshots.
