Dear freshmeat.net subscriber, schily just announced version 2.01.01a68 of cdrtools on freshmeat.net. The changes are as follows: This release adds better VMS support (e.g., to avoid hanging in "configure" with vfork()). libscg now compiles on Apple's "Snow Leopard". cdrecord has added a workaround for a NEC firmware oddity with DVD+RW to allow rewriting media written by other writers. This release avoids a wrong assert() abort with cdrecord when in -interactive mode (this mode was introduced for "libcdda2wavsrc" to create a legal backend for programs like sound-juicer). Mkisofs again prints all informational messages on stderr to avoid mixing with the filesystem output. Isoinfo now supports iconv()-based locales for decoding Joliet filenames. Project description: cdrtools (formerly cdrecord) creates home-burned CDs/DVDs with a CDR/CDRW/DVD recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. It supports CD/DVD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc- and ATAPI/mmc-compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CDRWs (rewritable), DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, TAO, DAO, RAW, and human-readable error messages. cdrtools includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD/DVD writers.
