Dear freshmeat.net subscriber, barsnick just announced version 2.11 of GNU C library on freshmeat.net. The changes are as follows: New interfaces execvpe, pthread_sigqueue, mkstemps, mkstemps64, mkostemps, and mkostemps64 were added. Many optimized string functions for x86 and x86-64 were implemented. A second fallback mode for optimized DNS lookup for even more broken environments was implemented. Several other enhancements were made. Two new locales were added. Project description: GNU C library (glibc) is one of the most important components of GNU Hurd and most modern Linux distributions. It is used by almost all C programs and provides the most essential program interface.
