Welcome to Devil-Linux, Rowan! I have never seen this error message before, so my only direct suggestion would be that you re-burn the CD - perhaps it is faulty? But I strongly recommend the Devil-Linux 1.4RC1 version from ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/releases/ for a new installation rather than 1.2.x. It uses the 2.6 Linux kernel instead of 2.4 and it might well solve your specific problem. Or you could try the 1.4RC2 version from ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/devel/testing/. I have been using 1.4RC1 happily for several months. [I'm waiting for 1.4RC2-i686-server before moving to that release : ) ] Dominic Rowan Schischka wrote: > ok im new to this flavour of linux. i have used several others and i > decided to try this one to set up a dedicated http server. my hardware > is various so ill just say i have one core2 cpu with ide cd, one p3 > with ide cd and a compact flash disk as a hard drive, and one compac > preasrio laptop with a sata cd. i have tried to boot this distro on > all my machines, off cd rom and off usb and off a compact flash hard > drive. i have had success with using damn small linux as a http server > off my p3 but i really want to use this distro because of the lack of > gui. all of my computers (with all configurations i can think of) come > up with the same error which i can not google an answer for. this is > why i am posting here. the error is: > > Searching for Devil-linux CD-ROM > checking /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 mount failed > checking /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2 mount failed > checking /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part3 mount failed > !!!
