I added Bug #20 to Mantis for you.

The directory /lib/firmware is missing in the initrd, which is probably
causing this issue.
I can't explain why it works after the boot, because I couldn't find the
firmware files on the disk.

I'm compiling a new DL version to see if the changes work.
