bonzini just announced version 4.2.1 of sed on freshmeat.net.

The changes are as follows:

sed -i now preserves SELinux security contexts, and temporary files for sed -i
are kept readable only by the user until they are complete.  A problem with
regular expressions including three or more consecutive brackets has been fixed.

Sed, the GNU Stream Editor, copies the named files (standard input default) to
the standard output, edited according to a script of commands.
