Regarding my previous inquiry:
shorewall 4.2?
I managed to upgrade my home firewall to Devil-Linux 1.3.7. I
migrated my Shorewall configuration over, and everything works as it
did before. I upgraded to the Shorewall-perl compiler, as this is
required for the new TIME feature in Shorewall.
Alas, Shorewall informs me that the TIME feature is not available to me:
---------------------------------------
Compiling /etc/shorewall/rules...
ERROR: A non-empty TIME requires Time Match in your kernel and
iptables : /etc/shorewall/rules (line 24)
---------------------------------------
I honestly don't know if Shorewall is correct. I'm not very familiar
with networking in general; this may be a symptom of my own
cluelessness. (Kind responses explaining my mistakes are welcome. :-)
Regardless, of the above, I don't wish to seem ungrateful for all the
work you folks are doing. I've been running a Devil-Linux firewall on
my home network for several years, and it's been flawless. Devil-
Linux is a distinguished public service, and I'm very grateful to all
the D-L developers for it.
Thank you,
stuart hastings
