For some reason when I was creating the volume, it would not let me use the -M2 switch. I can't remember the exact error it gave me, but I just dropped it hoping it wouldn't be an issue. That's probably why reiserfs wouldn't work for me. I also had the same problem as before, where my keyboard would not input anything to the console until I rebooted once with a mouse added to the system. This is with a different keyboard, the rest of the setup is the same. At least I knew how to fix it... not that it was really an issue, I could putty into the system just fine. If anyone is interested, I will write up a bit of a walkthrough on how to install and configure VLC so you can use your server as a media box as well. Once I get it working.
