[Devil-Linux-discuss] Keyboard disables after system-up noises?

I've done a search through the archives, but haven't been able to find
anything to help me with this...

I'm setting up a new install of DL to run as a file server at home, and
after running through the initial config/reboot, the computer has decided to
no longer recognize any keyboard inputs, but only after the system-up beeps.

It will accept keyboard input up until the second that it starts the beeps,
then it stops. It just stays at the login: prompt.

I don't know what to do here... please help?
