Alright I know this is probably going to be a Dumb Little Mistake i'm making, but I cannot figure it out. Alright so I know what you guys are going to say, just buy a router, I'm NOT buying a router, I'm doing it this way ok.. :) Alright I have 2 computers that I want to have internet to. I have a hub, and I also am using one of my old pentium 2's for a firewall. My connection goes like this The internet -> My Cable Modem -> My Fire-Linux firewall -> Hub -> Both of my computers Alright so I configured my firewall, I have 2 Ethernet cards, like your supposed to. One goes in, one comes out :) So heres my problem. The Firewall seems to get my connection fine, I can ping google, and whatnot from the Firewall, I have the Incoming Ethernet card set To Receive the Ip Automatically, and the 2nd Ethernet card to send out ( Hopefully ) the connection, being my own DHCP and assigning ips to the other computers. When I get on my computer, it will not let me get on the internet, It can't "acquire" It's own IP from the server , and I can't get on the internet :( What Am I doing wrong. I have the correct modules for each ethernet card ( they are the same type of card ) I do get one error on startup saying something about etho1, although It never gives me enough time to read it fully. Something about etho1 IPv4]SIOCSIFADDR : No Such Device I have these services enabled, Beep :) Firewall IPV6_Routing Routing And my DHCP is all set up correctly i believe. Dns server is 192.168.0.1 Then optional then it goes 1st ip 192.168.0.11 2nd is 192.168.0.20 Then my default gateway 192.168.1.254 I didn't think that matters, but I need a fix please, and thank you. -Derek |
