I am open for changes, but they would have to be done before we  
release 1.4-RC1.

I would prefer going a more generic route then copying one of the  
major distros. This is why I would like to give etcnet the first shot.
There's also one downside we would need to take care of: the upgrade  
script needs to be able to upgrade to the new config syntax.
