Do you know if the stock kernels in the newest major distro's have VMI
turned on?  (OpenSuSE 10.3, CentOS 5.1, Ubuntu 7.10, Redhat 5, ...)

Speaking of the default config, it contains the line:
  CONFIG_LINUX_POWER_MGMT=ACPI
and I can't find any reference to it in build/scripts/*
and it's not in my .config  -- shall I remove that line too?

And the default config has:
  CONFIG_POPTOP_MPPE_MPPC=n
and nothing about that in my .config  (same question)
