I think kernel is not compiled with PCMCIA support:
grep PCMCIA DL-kernel-config

# PCMCIA/CardBus support
# CONFIG_PCMCIA is not set
# CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_PCMCIA is not set
# CONFIG_PHONE_IXJ_PCMCIA is not set
# Prism54 PCI/PCMCIA GT/Duette Driver - 802.11(a/b/g)

So cardmgr says>
"No pcmcia driver in /proc/devices."
And of course, there is no PCMCIA support.

O.K.
I am trying hard to compile a new one with PCMCIA support, but I have  
not succeeded yet ....
