Sorry, shoulda mentioned that. I also had unplugged or disabled everything in bios to see if it might have been a hardware item setting it off, with no results. Since the first post, i tried the smp version for giggles. That one gets a little further, but then gpfs. Don't remember the exact error but i believe it was something to do with the machine having only one core. Was worth a shot.
