[Devil-Linux-discuss] 3ware controller in a nforce4 board with 4 gb ram

Hey everyone,

since I spent a lot of time on this issue, I want to make sure others find
this information when they Google around.

In order to get a 3ware raid controller (3w-9500s in my case) running in a
mainboard with a nforce4 chipset, you'll have to do the following:

1. Change your kernel boot parameters and add: iommu=force,noagp
2. Go to the BIOS setup
3. Press Ctrl + F1 to get the Advanced Chipset Features
4. Turn on H/W hole mapping
5. save the settings
6. boot & enjoy your 4gb
