OK, check for a new BIOS, and also check your BIOS settings.  Some BIOS
have some overclocking performance settings that could be the problem.
Set to the most conservative factory defaults.  If you're not sure about
a setting, use the advanced debugging technique of "trial & error".  :-)

I've seen old BIOS and mis-configured BIOS cause a lot of problems that
appear to be hardware related.
