Adding your old router into the path (as you diagrammed above) complicates your network setup tremendously, and you probably have a routing problem (or subnet problem) buried somewhere in your settings. If you're old router is a wireless router, and you need it for your wireless communications, then turn off it's DHCP server and configure it has a wireless HUB (not a router), and plug ONLY the LAN side into your switch on your internal network (don't use it's WAN port). Also when pinging, you should ping BOTH the name and the IP of the host to rule out a DNS configuration problem. - BS |
