Cacti, is a PHP front end to RRDTOOL. It requires a web server and PHP to = function correctly. I don't think you really want to put that much = overhead on a DL firewall. =20 Personally I use DL because there are so little processes running. =20 If you were going to monitor, I would think you would want a separate = machine running Cacti ( http://cacti.net/ ), JFFNMS ( http://www.jffnms.org= / ), Nagios ( http://nagios.org/ )or some other data collection software. =20 If you have a extra machine lying around you might want to try this, even = though it's a dead project. http://sentinix.tigerteam.se/=20 =20 It's called Sentinix and has Cacti, Nagios, and some other useful = utilities built into the distribution. I have one of these boxes running = and it monitors just fine. Might give you a idea of what you like, then = you could build your own system on a more recent distribution like SuSE, = or Slack. >>> Kari Mattsson <kar...@tr...> 11/13/2006 10:16 AM >>> Matthew Hattersley wrote: > Snmp monitoring could be the easiest. I have heard many really good news about Cacti.
