sempre just announced version 2.7 beta 2 of Python on freshmeat.net.
The changes are as follows:
Clang 2.7's static analyzer was used to clean up Objects/, Python/, and
extensions. The ossaudio extension is now built on GNU/kFreeBSD. On Windows,
ctypes no longer checks the stack before and after calling a foreign function,
making it possible to use the unmodified libffi library. The Vim syntax
highlight file was updated. Bugs were fixed.
Python is an interpreted, interactive,
object-oriented programming language. It combines
remarkable power with very clear syntax, and isn't
difficult to learn. It has modules, classes,
exceptions, very high level data types, and
dynamic typing. There are interfaces to many
system calls and libraries, as well as to various
windowing systems (Tk, Mac, MFC, GTK+, Qt,
