[Devil-Linux-discuss] Update of E2fsprogs possible?

Hi,
just try to expand an ext4-filesystem up to 22TB and it's fails, because (it's looks so for me) the e2fsprogs are too old.
Or is it an limit of the kernel? This means the error message.

resize2fs /dev/mapper/sata-big
resize2fs 1.42.6 (21-Sep-2012)
Filesystem at /dev/mapper/sata-big is mounted on /var/data/archiv; on-line resizing required
old_desc_blocks = 2176, new_desc_blocks = 2816
resize2fs: Kernel does not support resizing a file system this large

root@pm-archiv-sicherung:~ # uname -a
Linux data-archiv 3.2.66 #1 SMP Fri Jan 30 23:46:18 EST 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux

cat /etc/Devil-release
Devil-Linux 1.6.8-x86_64

On a debian-jessie with E2fsprogs 1.42.12 and 3.16.0-4-amd64 it's work without trouble.
The Filesystem is created as 64-bit (with an other distro...)

thanks!
No, I'm not in a hurry - just now I leave for one week holiday.

After that it will be great if I can expand the filesystem with devil-linux. Otherwise I must switch to debian.

Udo,

A new build with the latest 3.2 kernel and latest e2fsprogs is now available.
You can download it from here: ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/devel/testing
(The upload will be finished about an hour from the time I sent this email)

Hopefully this will resolve your issue with the large file system.
