I am using iptables for the first time. How/where do I save my configuration so that it will survive a reboot under DL? Does it have to be in the form of a shell script that runs at boot time or can I save the output from iptables-save? Thanks Dominic |

I don't remember the consolle command, but after you modified the devil linux configuration, you can start the configuration consolle with setup and the save config. Hey, yeah sorry, we can't add anything new until the final 1.4 is released. Please add it to Mantis as a feature request, seems like it may be a good addition to DL . Dominic, almost forgot to mention this. Since you're said your website is under attack right now, take a look at http://www.modsecurity.org/ , it is included in DL. It takes a bit to set it up and may require quite a bit of fine-tuning, but it served me well. -- Regards Heiko Zuerker http://www.devil-linux.org ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. |

Thanks, Paolo, but I had not realised until just now that iptables is FIREWALL in DL setup program. And the rules are (by inspection of /etc/init.d/firewall) at /etc/init.d/firewall.rules which runs as a script to start the firewall. Also (because my DL webserver is suffering an external attack) it would be helpful to have mod_evasive, which is not available in DL. Could this be added, Heiko? I guess maybe it has to wait for 1.5 release?
