[Devil-Linux-discuss] Intel SATA problems - AHCI / ata_piix

Hello,

I am trying to install custom rebuilt DL 1.2.14 on a new Intel MB with SATA 
drives. No success. Kernel does not detect the hardware. Have tried different 
BIOS options - IDE NATIVE or AHCI, no result. When changing the BIOS to IDE 
LEGACY kernel detects the drives, but is unacceptable slow (2 MB/s transfer 
rate).

Adding the line to config

INITRD_MODULES="libata ata_piix"

or 

INITRD_MODULES="libata ahci"

does not help. Module libata is loaded ok, but whet loading either ahci or 
ata_piix I get the following error:

ahci.o: init_module: No such device

Any help?..

yes, wait for DL with kernel 2.6

I expected such answer...

OK, if I will try DL 1.3 development, is it stable enough just for samba and 
loop-AES services? Right now I need only this limited functionality.
