I'm all for helping out. I'm just starting to learn C#. I've got a = pile of Linux servers here. My projects for this month is to make a NTP farm (Statum 2), and migrate my router from win 2K running Kerio to Linux. = The system that is currently my router is a P-II 450Mhz (224Mb RAM) that is running about 45% load idle. Something needs to be done about it. -Jeeves -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... [mailto:dev...@li...] On Behalf Of = Kari Mattsson Sent: Thursday, January 26, 2006 8:26 AM To: dev...@li... Kari is absolutely right, somebody has to take this project and maintain it. We were actually hoping that somebody volunteers to get Webmin working on DL, it's already a very extensive web interface. I played once with it, it mostly works. But somebody with Perl experience needs to do it. - -- Regards Heiko Zuerker http://www.devil-linux.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkPY7y8ACgkQUcytMSbs+YXJTQCcC6Tcf3IHQKrfD7CbKE/l60DN 9WAAoIOtVnStuJOdcLqmIU6EGTTCeu+I =/wRp -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

I just got done trying to install and run it again today, and once I go through the setup, the unit reboots and tells me the config files I JUST created are out of date to the distro I have on the CD. Another thing = is there needs to be a way of defining what interfaces are connected to = what. I currently have a win 2K box set up, and I don't feel like crawling = behind the rack to move plugs. I'll admit that there has been a lot of work = done on it, but something as simple as a choice of what the interface (and a description of what interface your working on @ that point) goes where (internet, LAN, DMZ, etc) would be a LOT easier. -Jeeves -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... I came across ISPConfig (http://www.ispconfig.org) in LWN the other day. They seemed to like it. I don't know much about it but at first look it seems very good and, perhaps, more in line with the sort of thing DL is used for. Does anybody have experience of it? Dick |

Dear Kari, Thursday, January 26, 2006, 4:25:31 PM, you wrote: >> Two: If Devil-Linux offers client load balancing (so the total # >> of clients accessing the internet will receive a shared amount of >> the total bandwidth with previsions for servers to receive more) > Bandwidth is a rather deep, wide and complex subject. Oh yes.... > The command for defining bandwidth related rules is 'tc', short for > traffic control. DL has it. I'll say more a bit - DL has a perfect toolkit for bandwidth control (I mean imq and l7 patches). Jeeves, look closely at http://www.mastershaper.org/tiki-index.php. As for me, I never use it, but DL has a packages from "MasterShaper Requirements". And, of course, http://www.lartc.org/. -- Best regards, Serge mailto:fi...@in... |
