Hi all, I'd like to post a request for the fprobe package.
It's very simple (only one executable, nothing more!) and it acts as a
NetFlow probe which exports the netflow packets to the collector(s), so
that they can be nicely viewed with tools like Ntop, Stager
(http://software.uninett.no/stager/) , or other netflows viewing softwares.
Netflow is commonly used to "capture" the traffic passing through a cisco
Fprobe exports the same traffic but out of a simple linux box so that you
can turn a commodity box into a network probe.
I made some tests compiling (on Debian) and copying a static version of
fprobe onto DL and it works as expected.
I also downloaded the tools to build DL (lfssystem ...) and tried to build
it into the chrooted system and it builds ok, so I guess the required
libraries are in place.
However my attempts to integrate it into the DL building process (following
the guide on
Of course I'm a newbie at this so I *have* done something wrong or
forgotten something. ^_^
I'll give every detail of what I've done to build it and also how to set it
up, if it counts for something.
Please let me know.
Thank you in advance :-)
