Why are you setting UTF-8 as default ?

this is the new standard on every distro, keeps away lots of problems. for example, samba 3.0 expects to find utf-8 as the system charset.

i'm trying it right know, and everything else is working right.

i've been working with it, and i would like to propose some new changes to the .config kernel file:

CONFIG_NLS_DEFAULT="iso8859-15"
CONFIG_NLS_CODEPAGE_437=m
CONFIG_NLS_CODEPAGE_850=m
CONFIG_NLS_ISO8859_1=m
CONFIG_NLS_ISO8859_15=y
CONFIG_NLS_UTF8=m

that is, everything as modules, and only 8859-15 inside the kernel. heiko, if
everything is ok for you, say something :)

more things: our glibc is updated?

and:

CONFIG_CODA_FS=m

i'll start doing some tests. the beauty of coda is that near everything is
in userspace.
