between make menuconfig and make build. it "configures" the scripts so

depends on the nature of the changes. for example, if you only want to
modify/erase/include a file, you could do it between make install and
make iso.
once the iso has been made, you have to do a make clean, so the ISO and
the ETC dir from tmp/ are erased.
use make mrproper only when you whant to go throught the entire process
again (it erases the tmp directory completely)
if you want to recompile one package again, you have to erase the
tmp/.done_install_package and the tmp/.done_build_package file, and run
make build install again.
