Thread: [Devil-linux-develop] which ftp server?

SourceForge Headquarters 1320 Columbia Street Suite 310 San Diego, CA 92101 +1 (858) 422-6466

Hey,

I want to include a FTP Server in DL 1.0, but I'm not sure which one.
Which is the most secure one, which still has some features and is usable?

proftpd is the one i use for almost everything.

pure-ftpd is also a good option, always heard good things about it, but i never installed it.

in any case, don't include wufptd... too much holes in a very short time (like bind :)

SuSE used to include proftpd as default server, now it's pure-ftpd ...
both seems a good choice to me as it's easy to make a basic config, as
well as a fine tuned.I'd choose the easier to compile ;-)

I'm very confident with SuSE's choices for that kind of stuff ... as i
am not an expert in everything (nothing ?!) ;-)
