DL developers:
I have added in iptraf and dhcpxd into my 0.5 distro here. If you want to put
this in the devel release let me know. iptraf is pretty straightforward - its
only a couple of binaries, and adds it in as a package. dhcpxd is tiny and is
just placed in /usr/bin. i am not sure what your code submission/review
procedures are...
I also modified init.d/network script to look for a new var in the nic config
files call DHCP_CLIENTD (or something like that) that checks to see what DHCP
daemon it should use. if the var is missing or is not set to "dhcpxd" it just
uses dhcpcd like normal. not sure if anyone is interested in dhcpxd but it
works great for me since it has some special options that are good for cable
modem users, like -nRR, that do a good job of keeping the same IP for a long
time...
it also places very useful info in the /etc/dhcpxd dir - which your firewall
can look at and use
i am gonna work on firelogd next if anyone is interested in it.
