Welcome to the wiki of XiaoLoong Dev-C++!

"XiaoLoong" means "little Chinese dragon".
"Xiao" means "little", and what about "Loong"?

In the culture of Europe and American, "dragon" generally related to some great bad or evil creature. But "dragon" in China is quite different from western culture.

In order to avoid misunderstand, Chinese people prefer to say "Chinese dragon" instead of simple word "dragon". But most foreigners still do not realize the difference between "dragon" and "Chinese dragon"!

So, in order to totally avoid misunderstand, some Chinese created the word "Loong" to call "Chinese dragon". The word has three advantages:
(1) The word is similar to "long", reminding people that the creature is long;
(2) There are two "o" in the word, which remind people that the creature has two big eyes;
(3) The word pronounces /lɔ:ŋ/, exactly the same as the pronunciation of "Chinese dragon" in Chinese.
