[Dev-C++] integration

ok, I want to integrate a simple way to build a static library into
Dev-C++...  I am comfortable with using GNU ar, and all that.  Is there
a way I can get a script of something or template that will help me when
making static libraries?
Pointers to good docs on the subject would also help.
