You don't need any particular compiler. I did my OOP Programming 2
class labs in DevC++ with the bundled MinGW then comiled the same code
with Borland C++ Builder 6 and Visual C++ Express 2005. The professor
wanted all homework done in VC2003 then 2005 to avoid any "but it
comiled on mine" whining. :D
Unfortunately that's all I remember because I've been stuck in VB-land
at work since class ended a year ago.
