When I first installed Bloodshed DEV C++ Version 4.9.9.2 on my computer: Highlighted lines / text would appear as a dark blue highlighted lines / text which was nice and was readable. With a slip of a finger I must have pressed some button or combination of buttons because now my highlighted lines and text appear as solid black lines making the text impossible to read. Un-highlighting the text reverts the text to normal. I have tried to uninstall then re-install the program, which didn’t work. Really it just bothers me and it would be nice if I could get it back to normal.

Yes, but since my 'guess' included your answer, what have you added? And after a month the OP would have found it by now I hope!

The settings hare held in a configuration file that is not removed on uninstall. Read the " PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING A QUESTION" of how to do a clean uninstall.

However you should not need to do that. I don't have Dev-C++ installed, so I am not sure of the exact dialog path, but somewhere under Tools->Editor options (or Environment options or similar). You will find a tabbed dialog that includes colour settings. There may even be a default button or default scheme setting. I can't remember.

This question was posted a month ago Ron. If he did not come back since then he has either fixed it, is no longer interested, or too rude to say thanks. Moreover you have simply repeated my answer (which seems to be a habit of yours!).

      Sorry...
It just seemed like you were unsure of where it was.
And yes, sometimes we have to repeat our answers to get them to sink in.
I had no intention of stepping on your toes.

"sometimes we have to repeat our answers to get them to sink in"

Uhhh, no. Bumping old threads up with answers that provide nothing new simply detracts
from the current discussions of the day.
