Line number gutter is black in my WinXP

I thought I made mistake but now I'm sure I didn't. In my Win2k, the line number gutter is OK. But in my WinXP, the strip is totally black.

I then go to the menu Tools > Editor options. In the "Display" tab, I then enabled "Line Numbers" then OK and the gutter background has became beige. I then went back to the same place and disable "Line Numbers" and then OK but the gutter didn't turn to black again.

I quitted and launched again Dev-C++ but the gutter isn't black again. So I think the color of the gutter wasn't defined when Dev-C++ was first setup, and I think I had the same problem in Win2k but because of config being changed, I didn't remember get this solved.

Could anyone tell me where Dev-C++ config files are stored? I will try to delete all config files so as if I'm first time using Dev-C++ and see if the gutter would turn back to black.

Right now I'm sitting in front of my Win2K in the office and I could reproduce the same bug. So the bug is independant of O/S.

Still no reaction from Dev-C++ developpers? Are they listening? A simple "Noted down" would be appropriate.

Now, if you will look near the top of the web page, there is a long list of links. One of them states "Bugs" - this is a place where you can be reported, and recorded, and they will be noted for sure.

This forum is not, and has never been a good place to report bugs. It is high volume, with 98% low level questions, so it is not an effecient place for the developers to regularly read. That is why they keep a putz me around, to help the process of answering the "Why am I getting linker errors?" questions.

There is also a developers forum, which you can find under s pull down menu above. You do have to register to get in, and it is for development type questions, but that is another logical place to discuss Dev code issues.

      Developpers?

Did you see any bug fixing, updating or real CVS activities in the last three/four months?

The development of Dev is stopped and without development any app will (sooner or later) die.

CodeBlocks may becomes a good alternative...

      OK, thanks.

The config files are in "Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Dev-Cpp". "Application Data" is a hidden folder. You can remove the entire Dev-Cpp folder.

Yes! This bug is totally reproducible!

I deleted the config folder and run the IDE again. It asked me to do the first-time config. I chose default options (XP theme or not doesn't matter). When the IDE is ready, I clicked on "Source file" icon and the line number margin is black!

Then I went to Tools menu > Editor options > Display tag and there I disabled "Visible" then OK and do the whole procedure to enable it again and now the gutter has its normal colour.

Do the developers of Dev-C++ read this forum? Or how could they be told of such bug?
