erm... to the person who asked... either you have no idea what you are talking about (in which case don't pretend you do... unless you are very sure of yourself)... else... you got really bad info... (in which case... stay away from that info)...
ATL = active template library
SDK = software development kit
MFC = microsoft foundation classes
as you can see sdk... is not an option... i mean... if you think about it... any programming language is about making software... and therefore... pritty much an sdk... usually it means a prepackaged set of functions to do some task quickly and efficiently (the stl and std are perfect example of sdks though not in the usual since)... mfc and atl are both made by microsoft... stay away from them... you will lead a much more fullfilling life... even if you just shot yourself in the head..

What is ATL? Someone said to me that it is an option to SDK and MFC.

Yeah, I always just stick with the API. I only recently started learning about SDL =)
