gcc.exe: installation problem, cannot exec `c

when i try to compile and run a program, it says source code not compiled, yet when i click compile on its own, it works. maybe this is to do with "gcc.exe: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1': No such file or directory"?
i have just installed the dev program and havent messed with the files, so can anyone help?
